  • On Tuesday the In Bloom judges were in town to do just that. Stonehouse has again entered the competition. Very many thanks to everyone involved in making the town look stunning and of course Good Luck. We await the result.
  • Parkrun Stonehouse now has its own Parkrun which takes place every Saturday at 9am on the football field in Oldend Lane. The first event last Saturday saw 160 runners take part. It is very well organised and it is there for everyone – there is no charge, just turn up and run or walk possibly with a dog? Great community event.
  • Bric-a-Brac and book sale. This Saturday July 30 at APT 1 Park Parade from 10am in aid of the Hedgehog Hospital. Refreshments. Come along and support this charity and find out what APT provide.
  • Stonehouse Town Council Neighbourhood Development Plan sets out the community’s vision and priorities for the future of the town for the next 15 years. The plan is on online until August 12 and comments from all Stonehouse residents, businesses, shopkeepers and are welcome. This is your town and your opportunity to be involved in shaping its future.

  • Stonehouse Crafty Stitchers Every Tuesday at APT Park Road at 7pm. Knitting crochet and sewing group. Open to all abilities. Drop in and see what we do.
  • Friday night is bingo night in Stonehouse Community Centre starting at 7pm.
  • Slow Yoga on Wednesdays from 9.45–11am in Leonard Stanley. For information about these classes, aimed at keeping older people supple contact John on 01453 791848.
  • Stonehouse Wheelers is a family friendly Cycling Club and always welcomes new cyclists. If you are new to cycling why not get in touch with the Secretary Roy Jones on 01453 298759.   • Sports facilities on the Laburnum Field. Have you seen the Outdoor Table Tennis Tables by the Community Centre? Alongside the Outdoor Gym equipment and Boules area are two tables. Who needs to go to a gym when you can use these facilities for free? And no dress code. Just turn up and keep fit.
  • Stonehouse Allotment Association Summer BBQ on Saturday August 6. There will be two bbqs, one for meat-eaters and one for veggies. The Association will be presenting the Best Allotment 2016 prizes to the lucky winners. Bring a chair and your own food and drink and enjoy the community spirit. All allotment tenants and their families welcome.
  • Zumba Classes are now being held in Stonehouse Community Centre every Thursday evening from 7.15-8pm.
  • Stonehouse Horticulture Show Sunday August 14. The Schedules are now printed and available from the Town Hall or on line. A large range of classes to appeal to all ages – green fingers and baking skills to the fore! And on the same day the Annual Jolly on the Laburnum Field.
  • Stonehouse Gardening Club meet next Wednesday, August 3 at 7.30pm in the Community Centre. Robert Bigss of Wanborough Nurseries in Swindon will talk on the subject of herbs. Visitors are always welcome for more information contact 01453 821809.
  • Keep Fit for the over 50s. Come along and join in this class which is held every Thursday in Stonehouse Community Centre from 10-11am.

  • Walking is considered by many to be the best way to keep fit. Stonehouse Health Walks take place every Tuesday morning and last one hour. Meet at the Community Centre to start walking at 10.15am. The Pop In is open for coffee at the end of the walk. There are a number of walks and leaflets giving details are available from the Town Council.
