LEGENDARY DJ Greg Wilson will be keeping the Stroud Fringe party going till the early hours tomorrow.

He will be playing at the Subscription Rooms at 11.30pm on Saturday after all the Fringe stages shut up shop for the night.

There are still tickets available for the show, which will keep the night alive till gone four in the morning with a mix of funk, soul and disco.

He has played New York, Ministry of Sound birthday party, Festival No6 and Bestival – and now appears in Stroud for one special show.

The set is part of the amazing Fringe Festival celebrations which kicked off earlier today and continue over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Greg began DJing in 1975 at the age of 15, was a resident DJ at the Hacienda during the infamous early days.

He was the first DJ to live mix on British television during an episode of The Tube in 1983 and is credited with teaching Norman Jay (aka Fat Boy Slim) to mix.

His Radio One Essential Mix is considered one of the top ten to be aired over its 17 year run and last year DJ Magazine gave him the plaudit of industry Icon Award at The Best of British Awards.

There’s no doubt that this man is one of the best in the business.

Part of the attraction of him appearing in Stroud, part from our pedigree of exceptional live music of course, is how longstanding professional and personal friendship with local DJs, writers and producers Situations Sounds, and they will be joining him for the evening as support and epic entertainers in their own right.

For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of a Greg Wilson set expect funk, soul and disco expertly mixed to create a soundtrack to the evening which you just cannot help dance to.

From the Happy Mondays to Prince, and Stevie Wonder to Grandmaster Flash he has an uncanny ability to please his audience and ensure a packed dance floor; and with his preference for playing long sets you better make sure you save some stamina for the night after an evening of carousing at the Fringe.

A rare treat, and definitely one of those “were you there?” nights. Make sure you pick up your tickets soon to avoid disappointment.

Greg Wilson plus Situation Sounds will be appearing at the Subscription Rooms on Saturday from 11.30pm - 4am. Last entry is 1.30am.

Tickets are £10 in advance from the Subscription Rooms 01453 760900 www.subscriptionrooms.org.uk/gregwilson
