WITH over 130 different acts performing on seven unique stages over three days and nights - Stroud Fringe has enough to keep everyone entertained this weekend – you’d be silly not to go.

Thousands are expected to flock to the free three-day event to get their fill of a colourful variety of acts from music and poetry to theatre and comedy.

There is a jam-packed schedule of events taking place throughout the town throughout the weekend – and a number of outer Fringe events to boot.

Nevertheless, there are a number of other events taking place up and down the Five Valleys outside the magical bubble of the Fringe’s main stages.

  • Colourscape

26 August - 29 August

Stratford Park Last year Colourscape arrived in Stroud for the first time and there were long queues of people as the word spread of the intensity of the experience.

This year Colourscape is open for an extra hour each day to help reduce queuing time. It is a very large labyrinth of colour and light - a sculpture of pure colour that the public actually go inside.

Everyone puts on a coloured cape to become part of the colour experience and enters into a new world where one can freely explore the potentials of light, colour and space.

Saturday at 11.30-4am.

The Subscription Rooms. George St, GL5 1AE Stroud

Surely Greg Wilson in Stroud with our very own, very talented Situation Sounds boys is the only way to celebrate after hours at Saturday's Fringe?

The word "legend" is banded around almost as much as "genius" nowadays, and seems to be attached to anyone whose career spans longer than one series of Big Brother.

One man undeniably deserving of the title, however, is Merseyside's Greg Wilson; a DJ since the '70s, he spent his early career plying his trade in the UK, championing the disco and electro-funk sounds which are now, as he is, enjoying a modern resurgence.
