LAZY Cook Mo Smith was the guest of honour at the annual Bisley Fête and Flower Show on Saturday.

Mo, who has lived in the village for more than 30 years, has been a stalwart supporter of the popular event and attended with her nine-year-old grandson, Charlie Sundaram.

The flower show attracted a wealth of entries, including vegetables, fruit, blooms, home baking and preserves.

Avening Silver Band entertained crowds on a mostly sunny day, as visitors enjoyed a string of competitions, stalls and games.

A royalty-themed fancy dress competition and a dog show, together with stalls including bric-a-brac, books, plants, cakes and toys were held.

Money raised goes towards the upkeep of All Saints Church.

Cook turned author Mo Smith became one of the UK’S most successful self-publishers for her series of Lazy Cook books from 2000 to 2005 and published her most recent book, Meals in ‘Mo’ments, last year.
