STROUD'S Minor Injuries Unit will close overnight, despite significant public opposition.
Following a consultation, Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust has unanimously voted in favour of changing the opening hours to 8am to 11pm.
More than 5,000 people signed a petition calling for the 24-hour service to be maintained.
The changes in opening hours will also apply to Cirencester's Minor Injuries Unit.
They will come into effect after November 1, to allow further consultation with nurses, it is understood.
NHS bosses say the changes are being made as the service is not frequently used overnight and due to staff shortages.
