A SPECTACULAR fireworks display will once again light up Stroud's skies this year.

The Rotary Clubs of Stroud, Stonehouse and Nailsworth are again organising one of the largest professional firework events across the Five Valleys.

Attractions include a fun fair and for the third year running a covered area for under 12s to enjoy a variety of art and creative activities free of charge.

The family event will raise money for several charities and good causes in the area.

Since it was launched more than 50 years ago it has raised nearly £250,000 in aid of charity.

Gates will open at 6pm for the event on Monday, October 24, at Marling playing fields.

This year the event will support Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, Great Western Air Ambulance, Willow Trust; Nailsworth Youth Club; St Rose's School; Gloucestershire Young Carers; Stroud Valleys Project; Citizens Advice Bureau; Stonehouse Scouts Group, The Stanleys’ Scout Group, Stonehouse Guides; Homestart and Severn Freewheelers.
