PUB managers at The Prince of Wales can take hope for the future from the way customers have rallied in support.

Having just started at the pub in Cashes Green, the burglary would have been devastating for husband and wife Melvin Forber and Sarah Hanson.

It is at such difficult times that the support of the community is needed.

Knowing that they have the backing of the community, managers can now start to implement their ideas for the pub as they aim to make it into a community hub.

From the reaction of customers, the pub is clearly popular and there seems to be support for the aims of the new managers.

It is hard to find positives after such an early setback, but perhaps managers can find a silver lining in the response of the community.

With plans to hold more community events, customers will be integral to the transformation of the pub.

We hope they can now implement their vision for the pub into a hub at the heart of the community.

The pub already has a good reputation, and with the hard work of staff and support of customers, has the potential to become one of Stroud’s most popular venues.
