TWO children’s charities will receive a funding boost from an autumn fair held at a school in Minchinhampton.

Now in its twelfth year, the charitable event at Beaudesert Park Preparatory School has raised more than £70,000 for mostly local charities, including a record £9,400 in 2015.

This year the proceeds will be split between Scrubditch Care Farm near Cirencester, and Children’s Hospice South West which operates throughout Gloucestershire and the rest of the South West.

Fiona Womersley, of Beaudesert Park School, who helped to organise the event, said: “The fair really has some momentum behind it now, with many visitors coming year after year to start their Christmas shopping or simply treat themselves to something lovely – and all while supporting some very worthy causes.

“We’ve got another fantastically broad, quite quirky, range of stalls lined up selling everything from gin to jewellery, toys to temporary tattoos, and pyjamas to portraits.

“There will also be delicious food and drink available courtesy of the Jolly Nice café in Frampton Mansell.”

The event will be held on Saturday, October 15 from 9am - 4pm at Beaudesert Park School, Minchinhampton, GL6 9AF. Open to all. Entrance is £3, and children under 16 go free.
