WHEN the indie record label he ran bit the dust, Scottish musician Johnny Lynch retreated to a caravan on the Hebridean Isle of Eigg.
Eigg is a community owned island and has the first completely wind, water and sun-powered electricity grid in the world.
From this refuge, Johnny, who performs under the pseudonym the Pictish Trail, launched a brand new label and set about writing material for his third album.
Three years later and that album – Future Echoes – has now been released.
This beautifully crafted selection of DIY electro folk pop tracks combines trip hop, soft synths and haunting vocal melodies.
Johnny is currently touring Future Echoes in the UK and will be performing at the Prince Albert in Rodborough on Thursday at 8.30pm.
