A MAN has been arrested in connection with the dramatic knifepoint robbery in Stonehouse last week.

The 36-year-old Stroud man was detained on suspicion of robbery yesterday.

He has been bailed to return to police on December 14 pending further inquiries.

The incident happened at the Spar store on Park Parade at around 9.30pm on Tuesday October 11.

A man wearing a motorbike helmet entered the store and demanded that the staff give him money, threatening them with a knife.

The man took cash from the till and left the shop with what is believed to be several hundred pounds.

Officers are continuing inquiries and anyone with information who hasn't spoken to police are urged to call 101 and quote incident 471 of October 11.
