FLOWERS have been left the scene of a fatal collision in Stroud yesterday.

The bunch of white flowers appeared on Bisley Road this morning.

A 70-year-old male cyclist was killed after being hit by a red Saab near the junction of Horns Road on Bisley Old Road at 2.30pm.

Despite officers’ best efforts to save his life the man sadly died at the scene shortly after.

Police have said a family liaison officer has been assigned to inform the next of kin. As of yet no name has been revealed.

A coroner is due to open in inquest.

It has been confirmed that the car which hit the elderly man had failed to stop for police just moment before the crash.

Many others have taken to social media to express their sadness and send their condolences to the family.
