THE skies over the Five Valleys will be lit up over the coming weeks with an array of firework displays.

Here is a handy guide to local events.

Thursday, November 3

  • Thomas Keble School fireworks - Thomas Keble School playing field, Eastcombe.

    Gates open at 6pm, starts at 6.30pm.

    Includes BBQ, with Jessie Smith sausages and refreshments.

    Friday, November 4

    • Horsley fireworks – Horsley playing field and village hall. Starts at 6pm, proceeds to the Friends of Horsley School.

    Saturday, November 5

    • Crown and Sceptre Guy Fawkes Night – Horns Road, Stroud.

    Gates open at 6pm for a night of fireworks and hotdogs.

    • Tetbury Firework Display and Guy Fawkes Celebration – Sir William Romney’s School.

    Gates open at 6pm, bonfire from 6.30pm, fireworks start at 7pm.

    Best guy competition from 6.20pm Entry – £5 (adults), £3 (concs).

    • Bisley fireworks – George V Pleasure Grounds, Van der Breen Street, Bisley.

    Gates open at 5.30pm, Magic Steve will wow the crowds from 6pm to 6.30pm with fire juggling, sword swallowing and unicycling.

    Organised by Bisley Bluecoat PTA Tickets – £4.50 (adults), £2.50 (children), £12 (family, two adults, three children). No charge for pre-schoolers. Tickets in advance from George Stores.

    • Minchinhampton fireworks – Minchinhampton School.

    Gates open at 5pm. Tickets – £5 (adults), £3 (concessionschildren and senior citizens)

    Saturday, November 12

    • Quedgeley fireworks – Fishers Meadow, off School Lane.

    Gates open at 5.30pm for a 7pm start. Tickets in advance - £3 (adults), £2 (children) from the parish office in School Lane or on Tuesday and Thursday morning from the parish office in Kingsway Community Centre.

    Tickets on the night are £4 (adults), £3 (children).
