A SECOND man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary after raids at a pub in Stroud and another in Dursley.

A 30-year-old man, from Quinton, has been arrested in connection with burglaries at The Prince of Wales pub in Cashes Green and the Yew Tree in Dursley which happened in September.

He is on bail until December 13.

A 33-year-old man, from Smethwick, is on bail until December 13, after he was arrested in connection with the raid at the Yew Tree.

The break-in at the Prince of Wales pub in Cashes Green, Stroud, was reported on September 13.

Fruit machines, a juke box and a pool table were smashed to grab cash, and the weekend's takings were also stolen.

Gloucestershire Police officers believe the burglary was linked to a similar break-in at the Yew Tree Inn in Woodfield Road, Dursley, which happened overnight between September 11 and the next day.

Around £3,500 was stolen from a safe at the Yew Tree, and all the fruit machines were smashed open, as well as the pool table and juke box, with the cash inside taken.

It is estimated that in total more than £12,000 was stolen in both raids.
