FIBRE artist Anna S King is currently exhibiting at the Wetpaint Gallery in Chalford.

Presented by SIT select, Anna's work is showing alongside a collection of paintings and prints by British artist John Piper.

Anna S King has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions in the UK, Europe and Internationally for the past 50 years. She studied at Gray's School of Art and Edinburgh College of Art. A retrospective of her work was held at National Museum of Scotland in 2007 and she has exhibited at Collect: The International Art Fair for Contemporary Objects and SOFA Chicago.

The reductive description of Anna as a ‘fibre artist’ does little justice to the richness of her work, which is built on a close relationship to the natural world, an instinctive practice of a wide range of craft skills, and an unerring eye for colour and design.

Anna has become best known for intimate objects, her woven containers sometimes like baskets, sometimes like nests, sometimes like both.

Exhibition continues until November 26.
