CONCRETE - that much maligned building material - has been given a bit of a makeover, thanks to Stroud artist Darren Rumley.
After many years of painting on canvas, Darren felt it was time to create ‘art with function’.
With a passion for sculptural pieces, Darren began to work in 3D and decided to experiment working with concrete.
The results of these experiments can be seen at an exhibition opening in Stroud this week.
A Year of Concrete, Darren’s debut collection, will show at the Pink Cabbage gallery from Thursday to Monday, November 28.
It is set to include polished concrete LED lights, coffee tables and seats. All hand made with concrete, mixed with other organic material and painstakingly polished.
