A WOMAN who was involved in a crash at an accident blackspot is trying track down the Good Samaritan who came to her rescue.

Sammy Peters, 30, from Stroud, crashed her Honda Jazz into trees after it careered off the B4066 near the Bristol and Gloucestershire Gliding Club on Sunday at around 8.30pm.

She believes the car could have skidded on oil from another recent crash.

After the car came to rest in trees near another wrecked car from a separate crash, a motorist who was passing came to help Sammy and alerted emergency services.

"From what I remember I managed to crawl out and then a man came to help and sat me in his car," said Sammy, who was driving to work.

"He called for the police and an ambulance and then waited with me for about an hour.

"I would say he was in his late forties and I think he said he was on his way to Nympsfield.

"I would like to personally thank him for his kindness."

Sammy was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with bruising and a gash in her head which required six staples.

Fortunately she did not have to stay overnight and is recovering well.

"I am surprised the airbag didn't go off," Sammy told the SNJ.

"It is fortunate it didn't as it could have suffocated me and I probably would not have survived.

"I drive in that area two to three times a week and there are so many collisions.

"It is an accident blackspot and I would urge drivers to be careful."
