A BOUTIQUE wedding florist set up by two good friends in Painswick has won a prestigious industry award.

The Bespoke Flower Company won the 2016 Wedding Industry Regional Winner 'Wedding Florist of the Year' award at a ceremony in Bristol last week.

The independent Painswick-based company will now go on to represent the South West at the national awards ceremony taking place at the Cafe de Paris in London in January.

Founded four years ago by friends and mothers Emma Hutchinson and Holly Lynall, the company has gone from strength to strength and bloomed into one of the country’s best.

With a shared passion for flowers and floristry, the two friends create and produce unique floral designs and arrangements for around 60 weddings a year across Stroud and the Cotswolds.

Holly said: “We were so thrilled to win the award last week. It was amazing to get that kind of recognition.

“One of the judges was the florist for the royal family so we were thrilled to get such high praise.

“The national finals are in London in the New Year. We’d love to go on and win it. But even to get this far has been an absolute treat.

“Running the company a fantastic job and we both love it so much.”

Emma added: “We first met seven or eight years ago when our children were at primary school. Now we have five kids between us.

“Since we first teamed up we’ve seen our kids grow up together and we’ve grown the business from nothing into one of the most highly respected in the region.

“Now we do up to 60 weddings a year. It can be quite hectic and busy sometimes but always really enjoyable.

“It’s always so rewarding to see how happy the bride is on her wedding day. Flowers really transform a venue into something personal and special.”

With over 14 years’ experience between them, the highly skilled floral design team work out of their old chapel studio in Gloucester Road.

Their work has also been recognised by The English Wedding Awards where they gained the Regional Winner title.
