A MEMBER of staff was assaulted during a robbery at a convenience store in Gloucestershire.

Thieves entered One Stop on Fairview Road, Cheltenham, shortly before 10pm last night (Sunday 8 January) and were witnessed trying to steal alcohol.

A member of staff, a man, confronted them before being assaulted by one of the offenders.

The offenders made off from the scene in a seven seater Vauxhall, which was silver or grey.

They were two men, in their teens to mid-20s, - one was of an athletic build, around 5 foot 8 to 6 foot and wearing a grey tracksuit.

The other was of a medium build, shorter in height, wearing jeans and a grey Adidas jacket with blue stripes.

Anyone who was in the area at the time or who saw the vehicle leaving the scene, should call police on 101 quoting incident 392 of 8 January.
