AN INQUEST has been opened into the death of popular writer Ryan Rogers, who died after being hit by a train in Stonehouse.

The Gloucestershire coroner has listed the initial cause of death as resulting from multiple injuries, after a post-mortem examination.

The inquest was opened and adjourned today, with a full hearing scheduled for May 18.

Ryan, 23, from North Cerney, was a freelance writer and volunteer at Cirencester Hospital.

In a loving tribute, parents Claire and Andrew Rogers described Ryan as 'a truly amazing son.'

British Transport Police said the incident at the level crossing in Oldends Lane last Thursday is not suspicious.
