Forest Green winger Elliott Frear is set to seal a switch to Scottish Premiership Motherwell this month.
Rovers turned down three previous bids for the former Exeter City and Salisbury flyer, but the SNJ understands Mark McGhee's side are set to make a fresh offer this week.
Media reports elsewhere suggested Frear had refused to play for Rovers in their FA Trophy victory at Chester, but the 26-year-old tweeted : "Just to confirm I haven't refused to play today, still struggling from injury last weekend. I'm a professional & would never refuse to play."
Meanwhile, Rovers are set to sign Bristol Rovers winger Jake Gosling on loan.
