POLICE are urging vigilance after another burglary in the small village of King’s Stanley.

Over the last few months and festive period the area has been the target of a number of home burglaries.

The latest incident occurred at a property in Borough Close on Wednesday, January 11.

Thieves gained entry by smashing the glass in the side door and made an untidy search of every room in the house.

“Several items were stolen during the burglary,” said Andy Poole of Stroud Police.

“The occupant is putting a list together of everything taken. We expect the value to be into the thousands of pounds.

“We believe the offenders gained entry to the property between 8.45am and 11.30pm on Wednesday.

“A local member of the neighbourhood watch said that his dog would not stop barking at around 7.15pm, so there is a chance the burglary occurred then.

“We’ve seen a number of similar incident in King’s Stanley in recent weeks so I ask residents to be vigilant and take steps to protect their homes when they go out.”

He appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or police on 101, quoting incident number 467/11/17.
