TWO sheep were killed in Painswick last weekend in what police believe to be a dog attack.

Police have responded by issuing a further reminder for owners to keep dogs under control.

The incident happened at 12.15pm on Sunday, January 15 in a field near Holcombe.

A police spokesman said: “Dog walkers should always keep their dogs on a lead when crossing farm land and must stay to the designated footpath or right of way.

“Please make sure that dogs are restrained on leads at all times in order to prevent any harm coming to livestock or your pets, and please remember to ensure that all gates are properly secured after they have been used.”

This attack follows another dog-attack in Stonehouse on New Year’s Eve where a pedigree ewe had to be shot by a farmer due to the severity of its injuries.

Anyone with information on this incident should call police on 101 quoting incident 202 of January 15.
