A NEW community-run photography project will aim to create a lasting visual history of Stonehouse.

Stonehouse in Pictures-2017 has been created by a group of the town's residents and will create a record of all aspects of life in the town throughout the whole of 2017.

The resulting work will then be used to create a photographic archive of life in Stonehouse, which could be used by future generations and historians.

Subjects will range from buildings, including listed ones, people, heritage and work places, streets, roads and all that is great about the town.

Photographers will also capture class and whole school photos, team events, school activities, buildings and classrooms, as well as all the year’s carnivals, fairs, fetes, festivals.

Everyday items such as books, magazines, comics and children's annuals will also be included along with food, sweets and drinks, fashion, household items and gadgets.

When completed the project members will be putting the photographs onto a disc and donating it to the Gloucestershire Archives and the Stonehouse Local History Group.

The project group are holding meetings on the last Thursday of every month at the All Pulling Together office 1 Park Parade in Stonehouse.

The next meeting is being held at 7pm on Thursday January 26. New members are welcome to attend.
