POLICE are appealing for witnesses after thieves stole cigarettes and a till from Morrisons in Nailsworth last night.
The incident occurred just before midnight when the alarm was triggered at Morrisons in George Street.
A member of Morrisons staff told the SNJ that four youths clad in balaclavas and hoodies stole cigarettes and a till before leaving in a white car at high speed towards the A46.
Staff are still trying to gauge what was taken and how much was in the till.
Police were on the scene last night (Friday, January 27) to confirm there had been a break-in and searched the area, but were unable to find the culprits.
There have be no arrests so far as the investigation is ongoing, including looking through CCTV footage.
A police spokesman said: "If anyone saw anything suspicious in the area around midnight last night then please get in touch."
