IT was a family affair for inspector Kev Roseblade when he checked in for his last ever shift at Stroud Police Station on Friday.

The retiring officer, who’s been pounding the beat for 24 years, went on duty with his daughter Hannah Bowen, a local PC in Stroud.

Kev, 60, from Chalford, a former custody sergeant in Stroud, joined the force at 34 after 11 years as Advertising Manager for the Wilts and Glos Standard.

Kev’s most recent role has been as roads policing inspector but his manager gave him special dispensation to make his final shift a very special one.

Ahead of the shift Kev said: “I’m a bit apprehensive because it’s been a few years since I patrolled the streets but I’m in safe hands. I’m sure there won’t be any disagreements – we get on very well.”
