A MOBILE Post Office in the form of a Mercedes Sprinter is up and running in Chalford and Brimscombe.
The sub post master Ashwyn Patel, from Royal Wotton Bassett, will visit Chalford, Belvedere Mews, A419, London Road and Chalford on Mondays and Thursday from 9am till 10am.
He will also visit The Ship Inn in Brimscombe on Thursdays from 10.15am till 11.15am.
The supplies include WH Smith local, postage stamps, greeting cards, calendars, diaries and most importantly an ATM.
Chalford district councillor Elizabeth Peters has faced an uphill battle to find replacement post services after the Brimscombe post office closed in late 2015.
She said: “Since the closures in Brimscombe and Chalford, the nearest Post Offices are in Eastcombe and Stroud which are five to six miles away.
“I’ve fought very hard to get this mobile unit up and running and it’s really a case of use it or lose it.
“Please do come and see what our lovely Mercedes Sprinter has on board.”
