MAIDENHILL SCHOOL head teacher Pam Wilson has welcomed the institutions positive Ofsted report.
The school classified as inadequate from 2006 to 2009 received an overall effectiveness rating of good in their inspection from January 10 to January 11.
Ms Wilson praised the job of her staff and credited them with the dramatic turnaround.
She said: “Our positive ethos and purposeful working environment are clear to all who visit and we are all very proud of our school.”
In their report inspectors praised the job of the teachers and the manners of the majority of students.
They said: “Students conduct and manners are very good and they have high levels of responsibility for their own behaviour.
“The head teacher and governors have high ambitions for the school and leaders have a consistent and unrelenting determination.
“Maidenhill is effective in promoting reading across the curriculum and students read widely, confidently and with understanding.”
The only area of concern for Maidenhill is the number of students skipping school.
Inspectors said: “Personal development and welfare is good, however there is a need for a small group of students attendance to improve.”
