A HEARTBROKEN little girl has made a desperate appeal to track down her beloved toy unicorn who was lost at Highfield Garden World during half term.

Five-year-old Maria Hollingworth misplaced the magical pink, yellow and blue soft toy called Fanta at the busy garden centre in Whitminster on Tuesday, February 14.

She had been out for the day with her grandparents Mary and Mike Poulton from Farmhill at the time and lost Fanta somewhere amongst the hustle and bustle.

Despite the efforts of the staff at Highfield, the enchanted creature unfortunately could not be traced.

Determined to track down her unicorn friend, Maria, who lives with her parents in London and had been visiting Stroud for half term, hand wrote a letter to the SNJ appealing for anyone who has found or accidently picked up the toy to get in touch.

“I miss Fanta my unicorn,” the letter said. “My unicorn has a blue and yellow and pink body and a golden horn and hooves.

“If anyone saw my unicorn please return it to the garden centre. My granny and grampy will pick it up. Thank you.”

Stroud News and Journal:

Grandma Mary said: “She was so sad when she lost the toy – it is her favourite and she takes it everywhere with her.

“It was a present from her mum, who brought it back from a trip to Germany. Maria has had Fanta for quite a few years now.

“If your child accidently picked it up please get in touch and help us return Fanta to her rightful owner.”

If you know the whereabouts of the golden-horned toy please return it to Highfield, where staff will contact Maria’s grandparents.

Alternatively, you can drop it into the SNJ office at 6 Lansdown in Stroud and we will return it to the grandparents.

Please share this story on Facebook to spread the appeal.
