THE CROWN Inn of Minchinhampton is set to reopen 'as soon as possible' as its owners take over control to finish refurbishments.

A notice was placed in the High Street pub window yesterday which reads: "Take notice that we, Enterprise Inns PLC. the freehold owner person entitled to the possession of the Premises, have today re-entered the Premises and the lease is at an end.

"All enquiries concerning this property should be sent in writing, quoting the name and address of the premises to: Enterprise Inns PLC, 3 Monkspath Hall Road, Solihull, B90 4SJ, 0121 272 5000."

The pub has been closed since 2012 but it would seem that new tenants will be taking over the premises in the near future.

A spokesman for Enterprise Inns PLC now called Ei Publican Partnerships, said: "Unfortunately our previous publicans were unable to complete their planned refurbishment works and, after careful consideration, we have reluctantly taken back the Crown Inn.

"The pub will remain closed for a short time whilst we complete the refurbishment work and we intend to reopen the pub as soon as possible.

"We are actively looking for a new tenant to ensure this pub is a welcoming venue for the local community.

"Anyone interested in taking the position should contact our recruitment team on 03333 200036."

A spokesman for Minchinhampton Parish Council said: “Ei said it was their intention to ensure that the pub, once again, becomes a welcoming and enjoyable location for all its visitors."

"They told the council in their letter that they would be completing the property works to the highest standard and endeavouring to re-open within the next 12 weeks."

In December 2014 the parish council successfully applied for The Crown Inn to be registered as an Asset of Community Value.
