  • Cotswold AONB Warden Led Walks. If you fancy a walk this Sunday February 19 come and join the group at Sherston High Street to walk to Shipston Moyne and Westonbirt. A nine mile walk taking five hours. All walks start at 10am and return to the starting point. Join in a project to create a photographic record of all aspects of life in Stonehouse throughout 2017.   • Hats for Seafarers. The hat project has got off to a really good start this year. I have just posted another 51 hats to the Mission in Bristol Thank you all for continuing to knit to keep this project going. The hats are always needed.

  • Woodchester Mansion is looking for volunteers. Recruitment sessions are being held on Friday March 3 6.30 -8pm Mortimer Room, The Library Nailsworth and Sunday March 5 at the Mansion at 2.30. Meet at 2.15pm at the National Trust car park for the minibus to the mansion and there will be a tour of the mansion at 3pm. Also needed volunteers for a number roles for public open days starting Saturday April 1.
  • Where to keep fit in Stonehouse: Maidenhill Joint Use Centre is one of Stonehouse’s best kept secrets. It has a fully equipped Gym Sports and Dance Centre and an excellent range of facilities.   • Stonehouse now has its own Parkrun which takes place every Saturday at 9am on the football field, Oldend Lane. It is very well organised and it is there for everyone – there is no charge, just turn up and run or walk possibly with a dog. Great community event. Parkrun is also looking for volunteers so if you would like to join in by helping either just go along on a Saturday or contact John on 07964 556240.
  • Stonehouse Wheelers is the cycling club which always goes out – whatever the weather. For December to February the Wednesday run will start at 1.15pm outside the Globe Inn, Stonehouse. The Wednesday ride is an ‘easy’ bike ride of up to just 18 miles – so all cyclists welcome. But please – lights and mudguards are essential in these winter times.
  • Zumba Classes are now being held in Stonehouse Community Centre every Thursday evening from 7.15-8pm.
  • Walking is considered by many to be the best way to keep fit. Stonehouse Health Walks take place every Tuesday morning. Meet at the Community Centre to start walking at 10.15am. Walks last up to one hour. The Pop In is open for coffee at the end of the walk. There are a number of walks around Stonehouse and leaflets giving details are available from the Town Council.
