A MINCHINHAMPTON family are holding a fundraising event for a charity close to their hearts.

Ruth Morris and her team at Stafford Cottage will be having a stockroom clearance on Sunday, March 12 in aid of The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust.

An ectopic pregnancy is when a fertilised egg implants itself outside of the womb, usually in one of the fallopian tubes meaning it must be removed for the carrier’s safety.

Jen, Ruth's younger daughter and her family endured this heartbreak in November 2015 and want others to get the same quality of support and advice they received.

Jen said: “It is a horribly isolating and lonely experience with huge feelings to contend with.

"Not only did we lose our baby but I had life changing, emergency surgery to recover from.

“It was good to know that we were not alone."

The Trust provides advice and information forums as well as investing in important research in the condition which affects one in 80 pregnancies.

Minchinhampton Scout Hut will host the event between 1pm and 4pm with all items on sale costing under £10. Refreshments will also be provided.

Jen is collecting used stamps to help raise funds for the EPT.
