A POPULAR ceilidh group are playing a charity barn dance in aid of Stroud Food Bank at Marling school hall on Friday, April 7.

Phoenix Dance Band regularly perform at top ceilidh and festival events in the country but will give this performance for free.

Three members of the band Rod Stradling, Fran Wade and Kevin Bown live in Stroud whilst the other two Steve Harrison and Mike Pinder reside in Yorkshire.

Keyboard player, Kevin said: “For us it is great to be doing a booking near to home and to be supporting the local food bank at the same time.

“It would be great if people go along, enjoy themselves and raise some money.” A caller, Derek Kingcott will be there to explain the dances.

Doors will open at 8pm. Tickets cost £12 and are available on the night or in advance from www.strouddistrict.foodbank.org.uk.
