A SERIOUS collision between a Ford Focus and Nissan Almera injured a woman in her 60s and led to the five-hour closure of the A38 near Stone.
The woman was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with head injuries.
Police received reports of the crash at 10am today when two vehicles - a red Ford Focus and grey Nissan Almera - collided.
The roads was closed northbound from the B4509/A38 junction and southbound from the A4135/A38 junction but was reopened at around 3.30pm.
A large buildup of traffic had gathered in the area, cars are being turned away by police and advised to take an alternative route.
Police had requested the closure of the road near Berkeley between Damery Lane and Swanley Lane.
