LUCKY Charlie, a tattoo artist from Cashes Green, recently arrived back from a convention in Germany smelling of roses after his rose was awarded 2nd best colour tattoo.
Charlie Mills spent two days in Leer, Germany at the Starfire Tattoo weekend, in which he competed in the coloured tattoo competition on the second day. Contestants were given around four hours to complete a design of their choice.
Charlie’s prize-winning ink featured a red rose surrounded by green leaves and hints of azure blue. He has produced several roses before, allowing him to refine his unique style for the contest.
Describing the whole weekend as an adventure, Charlie said he intends to enter more competitions. “It was a proud moment which has made me motivated to keep going.”
The artist has already booked another in August in Munster, Germany and will be attending several more in 2018.
Charlie found his love for tattoo artistry after he lost his left arm to a motorcycle accident in 2012.
