  • Stonehouse History Group meet this evening Wednesday, April 12 at the Town Hall at 7.30pm. ‘Restoring the Vale of Berkeley Railway’ An illustrated talk by Rob Carruthers about the history of the line and the plans for its restoration.   • Stonehouse Town Council Annual Town Meeting and Civic Awards Monday, April 24 at 7pm 2017 Do you know someone you would like to nominate for a Civic Award? Categories include: 1 – Person Making an Outstanding Contribution to Stonehouse over a number of years; 2- Stonehouse Business of the Year; 3- Stonehouse Community Group of the Year; 4 – Vicky Wakefield-Heath Young Person of the Year (up to the age of 25).   • Cotswold AONB Warden Led Walks. Wednesday, April 19, walk from Horsley village shop to Chavenage Green. 4 hours – 6 miles. All walks start at 10am and return to the starting point.   • Stonehouse British Legion Women’s Sections. We meet on the last Thursday of every month at 1.45 in the Stonehouse Community Centre and the next meeting, Thursday March 30, Tony Osman will be demonstrating the art of glass blowing.   • Stonehouse Neighbourhood Plan Group have submitted a draft Neighbourhood Plan to Stroud District Council. The Plan has the aim of supporting the development of the strong friendly community of Stonehouse as a distinctive thriving town. The District Council is holding a six week consultation on the submission draft of the Plan from April 5, 2017 to May 17, 2017. Copies of the Neighbourhood Development Plan and supporting documentation are available to view on the Stroud District Council’s website; hard copies can be viewed at the District Council Offices, Ebley Mill, Stonehouse Town Hall, Stonehouse Library and All Pulling Together, Park Parade Stonehouse.
  • Stonehouse Wheeler is the cycling club which always goes out – whatever the weather! For December to February the Wednesday run will start at 1.15pm outside the Globe Inn, Stonehouse. The Wednesday ride is an ‘easy’ bike ride of up to just 18 miles – so all cyclists welcome. More information can be found on their website: http://www.stonehousewheelers.org.uk.
  • Stonehouse now has its own Parkrun which takes place every Saturday at 9am on the football field, Oldend Lane. It is very well organised and it is there for everyone – there is no charge, just turn up and run or walk possibly with a dog? Great community event. Parkrun is also looking for volunteers so if you would like to join in by helping either just go along on a Saturday or contact John on 07964 556240.
  • Stonehouse now has a Boules court on the Laburnum Recreation Ground. If you would like to hire the court, please contact the Town Council for details on how to hire it and get the key. 01453 822070.
  • Keep Fit for the over 50s. Come along and join in this class which is held every Thursday in Stonehouse Community Centre from 10-11am.
  • Zumba Classes are now being held in Stonehouse Community Centre every Thursday evening from 7.15-8pm.
