A FORMER Stroud district councillor has been accused of driving his classic Morris Minor while over the alcohol limit.
Robert Sinfield, 51, who won the Rodborough seat in the 2004 district election, appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court yesterday, Wednesday.
Sinfield, of Pinfarthings, Amberley, is accused of driving his Morris Minor with an alcohol level of 44 microgrammes, the legal limit being 35 microgrammes.
Matthew Harbinson defending, requested an adjournment to check the calibration certificate of the Intoxilyzer device that had been used that day.
He said that the internal clock on the device was wrong, and therefore he could not advise his client to plead guilty if perhaps the unit was faulty.
The case was adjourned until Monday, May 8.
