A WOMAN from Stroud has pleaded guilty to threatening another woman and her dog with a knife.
Rebecca Jones, 49, of Devereaux Crescent, Ebley, Stroud was due to be sentenced at Gloucester Crown Court today.
However, her solicitor, Sabhia Pathan, applied for an adjournment on the grounds that Jones has 'issues with her mental health.'
She said she has contacted Jones' GP surgery to ask for an updated report on her medical records but has not yet had a reply because her own doctor has recently retired.
"My client tells me she suffers from depression, anxiety and a condition which causes a shrinking of the brain," Ms Pathan said.
"She also freely accepts that on the day in question she had consumed a quantity of alcohol. She has an alcohol problem, which she accepts as well."
Judge Michael Cullum said that until all relevant material was before the court it would be difficult for the prosecution to decide whether to accept the basis of plea.
He said the court should have a report on Jones from psychiatric nurse Andy Webb as well as the probation service.
The judge remanded Jones in custody until Friday, May 19.
He told her "Various people will come and see you and take some details from you in an effort to get you some help."
Jones' offence was committed on Saturday, March 11.
