BE HAPPY

It’s less than four months since we celebrated Christmas and the world went crazy.

Now (as I write) we’re making ready to celebrate Easter.

OK, so we don’t have big Easter parties, in the same way that we have Christmas parties, but as a Christian, I see Easter as the most important thing to celebrate.

I am though surprised that so many people in the world are unaware that the two festivals are connected.

Is it perhaps due to the fact that the Gospel message is not being told enough?

A friend of mine was recently teaching two young people that are not currently in school.

He told them the Easter story.

They were both 14 years old and they said that they had never heard the story before.

How sad is that?

It would seem that there’s a whole generation in need of hearing the Gospel.

They need to hear that God created us, that sin entered, that sin separated us from God.

They need to know that Jesus is God’s rescue plan for us.

Before Jesus, in order for the Jews to draw close to God, they had to sacrifice a lamb.

The blood of the lamb was seen as a cleansing atonement for all that we do wrong, but it didn’t last.

Jesus was sacrificed as part of God’s “Master Plan”.

He was perfect, without blemish and died as the ultimate sacrifice.

The Lamb of God.

But the story doesn’t end there.

You see, Jesus died so that we don’t have to (spiritually).

Three days after he was tortured, nailed to a cross and died, he conquered death.

I am amazed to hear that in a recent study, 47 per cent of those that say they’re “Christian”, said that they don’t actually believe in the resurrection.

How sad is that?

I know that Jesus is alive, because 31 years ago I invited him into my life and my life changed.

If you haven’t done that yet, then I urge you to do it now.

Then you can stop being sad and start being EASTER HAPPY.

HAPPY EASTER.
