CHILDREN from The Co-operative Childcare nursery in Cainscross visited the residents of Scarlet House care home for some fun Easter activities before the bank holiday weekend.
Residents at Scarlet House care home on Westward Road kicked off their Easter celebrations with a special visit from The Cooperative Childcare nursery in Stroud.
Twenty children from the nursery visited the care home to take part in Easter themed activities, including making Easter cards and decorating egg-shaped magnets.
The children also explored the gardens with residents and enjoyed meeting the home’s guinea pigs.
Pyela Mwale, home manager at Scarlet House, said: “We were delighted to welcome the children from nursery for some Easter fun ahead of the bank holiday weekend.
“The children and residents alike had an ‘egg-cellent’ time getting creative with crafts.”
“Easter is an important time of year here at Scarlet House and many of our residents have lovely memories of celebrating Easter with their families.
“So as well as being great fun, these Easter activities are a valuable reminiscence activity, especially for those living with dementia.
“It was fantastic to see the different generations enjoying spending time together, we hope to see our new friends again very soon.”
