Chris Dent moved to his 12th first-class century as Gloucestershire battled hard to avoid defeat by Durham on the final day of the Specsavers County Championship match at Bristol.
The 26-year-old left-hander was dropped on 95 by Michael Richardson at second slip off Chris Rushworth in the first over with the second new ball.
That was all the luck Dent needed to go to three figures off 241 balls, with 11 fours. Gloucestershire, who had begun the day on 175 for three in their second innings, progressed to 252 for four at lunch.
That meant a lead of 136, with Dent unbeaten on 101. Durham’s only success of the morning came when George Hankins, on 20, clipped Brydon Carse off his toes to square-leg where Stephen Cook took a sharp two-handed catch diving to his right.
