THE GRAND Village Fete returned again this weekend with the usual fun and activities for all the family.

Community stalwart Liz Peters bowed out as co-coordinator after nearly 30 years, during which time the event has raised more than £100,000 for good good causes.

There was plenty of fun activities for everyone to get involved in, including dog agility, football skills, cheerleading, Zumba and much more.

Punch and Judy shows delighted children and there was a fun-fair, stalls, a food court and go- karts.

An all-day bar serving Pimms and a Stroud Brewery stall provided refreshing beverages.

There was also an auction during the day to bid for items such as a gym membership, entry to attractions, books, a round of golf, beauty treatments, and gliding lessons.

This year was the 28th anniversary of the fete, the first took place in 1989 and was opened by then-MP for Stroud, Roger Knapman.
