SOUTHERN LEAGUE Shortwood United have renamed their reserve team Shortwood Development.
The club's second team play in the Hellenic League Division One West under boss Nick Ackland.
The aim of the Development is to provide quality training, with the first team, providing a pathway through to the Southern League.
"We believe training with the first team will provide experience and education to move players forward," club press officer Jim Cunneen said.
"Under the watchful eye of managers Paul Meredith and Nick Ackland this can only be of benefit to the players and club.
"The aim is for the Development side to have a core of players aged under 23, complemented by more experienced players."
Pre-season training for all players starts at Deer Park School, Cirencester, on June 22 with all players present and new welcome to attend.
