A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD girl has died after going into cardiac arrest at an address in the High Street, Stroud.
Police were called to the property on Monday following a 999 call.
Paramedics treated the girl at the scene and she was then taken to hospital.
Gloucestershire Police released a statement saying: "At 14.25 today police and ambulance emergency services attended an address in the High Street, Stroud following a call for assistance that a child was in cardiac arrest.
"Tragically a seven-year-old child later died as a result of this incident.
"Police are investigating the full circumstances of this distressing incident which are not thought to be suspicious but are at this stage unexplained."
Woodruffs cafe in the High Street, will be closed today as a mark of respect for the young girl.
