A 51-YEAR-OLD motorist has been banned from driving and fined £400.
Robert Sinfield, of Pinfarthings, Amberley, was stopped by police in his Morris Minor near his home on April 2, Cheltenham magistrates were told on Thursday.
Mr Sinfield, who admitted driving with excess alcohol, was found to have 44 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 35 micrograms.
He was banned from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs.
Mr Sinfield was a Conservative district councillor, he won the Rodborough seat in the 2004 election.
