COMMUNITIES have come together to celebrate on the Great Get Together weekend.
People across the UK came together this weekend to celebrate their communities and putting differences aside as sign of unity.
There were many events in Stroud including a street party in Paganhill, tea and cakes in Painswick and a four mile 'commemorative walk' in Nailsworth.
The Great Get Together was put together by The Jo Cox Foundation and The Big Lunch along with dozens of other community groups.
It is inspired by Jo Cox, an MP and mother-of-two who was murdered in her Batley and Spen constituency, in Birstall, West Yorkshire, days before the EU referendum vote last year.
Stroud District Council leader Steve Lydon said: "The Great Get Together is an excellent tribute to the life and work of Jo Cox who was so sadly murdered just over 12 months ago.
"Brendan Cox, Jo's husband, has done a great job putting this together and I encourage everyone to take part."
