Monkeying Around in Uplands for Uplands School, Stroud

BACK by popular demand, the Monkeys of Uplands School are being let loose again and the trail to find them will be taking place over the weekend of July 8 – 9, 2017.

This will be the fourth consecutive year that the trail has been run, raising money for Uplands School PTA.

Last year over £1,000 was raised from sponsorship and the sale of trail maps and refreshments.

This year, once again there will be two trails around the streets of Uplands, as well as a Mini Monkey Trail in the school grounds.

All kinds of monkeys are hidden along the trails and each one has a letter beside it which solves a puzzle on the trail maps.

Many of the monkeys are being sponsored by local firms and individuals or families.

The trail maps, available from Uplands School on the Saturday and Sunday, are £2 each or £5 for all three.

“We discovered parts of Uplands we’d never seen before and had a lovely family day out hunting for monkeys! We will definitely be getting involved again this year” said Hayley Pownall, parent from Uplands Primary School.

There are great prizes on offer: West Midlands Safari Park have again donated tickets to the winner of the main trails, and everyone who completes a Mini Monkey Trail wins a chocolate monkey lolly!

“The school hall is transformed into the Monkey Café for the whole weekend, and on the Saturday afternoon the school’s Summer Sizzle is also taking place” said organiser Linda McNee. “We’re really grateful to all our sponsors for supporting the Monkey Trail” added fellow organiser Emily Willsher.

Monkey Trail maps can be purchased along with refreshments at Uplands School from 11am – 4pm on Saturday, July 8 and Sunday 9.

The Summer Sizzle is from 2pm on the Saturday.
