THE driver of a red Alfa Romeo car, has been arrested following a serious collision between a car and motorcycle on the A46 near Tetbury on Friday, June 23.
The 55-year-old man from the Stroud area, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and drink-driving. He was later released under investigation while enquiries continue.
The incident occurred on the road between Calcot and Lasborough, near to the junction of Bowldown Road, just before 1pm.
The 28-year-old rider of the silver-coloured Suzuki motorbike was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with serious leg injuries.
The A46 at the location was closed for nearly six hours while investigations and recovery work took place.
Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the collision. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police are asked to call 101, quoting incident 209 of 23/6/17.
