STROUD District Food Bank have issued an urgent appeal for supplies.
It is believed the lack of food is due to the high demand during the school holiday period.
The food bank estimates that it hands out around 500 to 600 packs of food over a six week period.
If anyone can provide items of food they will be gratefully accepted.
Suggested items included UHT milk, tinned rice pudding, biscuits, tin fruit, tin meat, custard, tin fish, tin vegetables, jar pasta sauce, sponge puddings.
