THE WALLED Garden at the Museum in the Park has new residents, bees and hedgehogs.
The recently opened Walled Garden is providing a new home to insects and animals, furthering the biodiversity of the garden and potential for new learning opportunities and partnerships.
Stroud District Council has teamed up with Help a Hedgehog Hospital to home three rescued hedgehogs in the garden, one male and two female.
The hedgehogs have a feeding station in the orchard.
Bees will join the hedgehogs are some bees after a partnership formed between the district council and Peter Lead of the Stroud Beekeepers.
Peter has installed a hive which is home to a colony of bees from Westonbirt.
This has allowed the introduction of a Saturday ‘Buzz Club’ at the Museum for those interested in beekeeping with an additional session for those that are home-schooled.
Peter said: "This gives us a great opportunity to study honeybees and all pollinating insects at work in the wonderful walled garden that is full of plants specially chosen for pollinating insects."
Further information including future meeting dates can be found on the Stroud Beekeepers website.
