I RESPOND to the usual letter from Dr House (SNJ June 21) telling me to look at ‘history’ I don’t have to Dr House.

I entered the world, courtesy of mum and dad, precisely as the 1930s commenced in a mining village, dad being a coal miner having been sent at the age of 10 in 1910 part time.

His ‘job’ was to look after the pit ponies.

My initial 10 years until WWII started were in that mining village.

Dr House, as I stated ‘experience’, do not tell me to learn history, I am part of that history.

As for food banks, we didn’t have food banks then – we had soup kitchens usually provided by the Salvation Army.

Your remarks concerning ‘consumer debt’ - that is entirely the fault of the debtors and of course Pop Idol Corbyn and his Corbyneers, would put the entire country into that frame.

As for his ‘music’, a very old tune played on a very old fiddle.

Also reading your words, anyone would think that I do not pay tax.

I do in all categories.

With regard to American President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, whilst a Democrat his Liberal attitude and application re investing in America is what renewed American vigour in recovering from that depression.

Isn’t that what May is saying with, of course, Corbyn and McDonnell swearing to politically wreck it – BBC News at Ten June 21.

Corbyn’s Manifesto, fully costed is it?

Show me printed public audited signed off reports for examination. Without crippling taxes and borrowing just where’s the finance to come from?

All we’ve heard and read is the usual ‘politigabble’.

As for your remark ‘less money’, where’s it going, gone?

I suggest Dr House that you have a good look at EU costs, overseas aid, bankers bunking – just three.

Finally, unlike yourself I do not ‘rail’.

My lifetimes experience certainly outweighs anything your doctorate has apparently taught you.
